This collection contains research on various aspects of fish/animal ecology, manuscripts of students and colleagues, as well as those of Carlander and his wife, Harriet Carlander (Harriet Carlander published a manuscript on the History of Fishing on the upper Mississippi River). An extensive amount of materials relating to Carlander's involvement in the United World Federalists and other peace/world government organizations is included. The collection also contains personal and professional correspondence, particularly related to Carlander's work with the Iowa Cooperative Wildlife Research project, as well as various fishery research, including work done on Iowa Lakes. Lecture notes are also found in Carlander's collection.
